Here is some interesting news for the weekend. Sony Alpha Rumors just posted a leaked photo of the upcoming Sony a9II. While leacked photos are sometimes real and sometimes “shopped”, SAR is usually a reliable source. The good news: The camera will be announced in October and displayed at the PhotoPlus show in New York. We will be there to provide real-time coverage.
According to SAR there are two noticeable external features:
- The new Sony A9II looks exactly like the new Sony A7rIV but with the additional dial on the left.
- Gone is the “Focus mode dial lock release button” of the previous Sony A9
SAR also shares that “the WOW elements are INSIDE the camera. The sensor should be the most advanced one on the market yet“. With maybe a 36MP sensor.
