Adobe’s Premiere Pro is one of the most popular video editing applications in the world. Like most non-linear editors, though, Premiere Pro can seem very overwhelming to new users, especially when it comes to effects. In this new video series, Justin Odisho is on a mission to go over every single effect available in Premiere Pro.
Each video goes over a different group of effects available natively in the effects panel of Premiere Pro. He takes a deep dive into each of the effects to explain exactly how they work and what each of the options available to them does.
Justin explains the process of “Every Effect Explained” in the introduction video. Not surprisingly, it’s the first video in the playlist at the top of this page. Just uses the introduction to show you how his workspace is set, and how to find the effects panel if you can’t see it. He also goes over the default effects that are applied to each clip when you place them onto your sequence timeline.
The rest of the videos in the series each go through a different group of effects available through the effects panel. So far, Justin is up to Part 8 in his series, covering various commonly used effects, such as blur and sharpening, colour correction, channels & blending, distorting and more.
Whether you’re a beginner or even a more advanced user, if you’re not already familiar with all of the effects available to you in Premiere Pro, it’s well worth having a watch of the series so far and keeping an eye out for future videos. You never know when that obscure effect you didn’t even know existed might just save your bacon in an edit.
How well do you know all of Premiere Pro’s effects?
